HFC-134 is a refrigerant used mainly in small refrigerators and automobile air conditioners, and since the 1990s it has been used to replace the more environmentally hazardous R-12, which can be adapted to HFC-134 in original R-12 refrigeration equipment. In addition, it can be used as a foam blowing agent, cleaning agent, propellant for drugs (such as bronchodilators), wine opener, dust collector, and dehumidification of compressed air.
