HFC-134 is a refrigerant used mainly in small refrigerators and automobile air conditioners, and since the 1990s it has been used to replace the more environmentally hazardous R-12, which can be adapted to HFC-134 in original R-12 refrigeration equipment. In addition, it can be used as a foam blowing agent, cleaning agent, propellant for drugs (such as bronchodilators), wine opener, dust collector, and dehumidification of compressed air. Sometimes it is also used to cool down overclocked computers. It is also commonly used as an airsoft propellant in survival games.
